Our History

Tackling the most challenging cross-border matters

Club de Abogados is an association founded in 1966 by a group of leading independent European law firms, who perceived there was a need of extending their services beyond national borders. In a pioneering move at that time, those firms formed an international network with other top tier firms in Europe. Soon after, in 1970, a group of well-established first tier Latin American law firms was invited to join the Club. The Iberoamerican section of the Club de Abogados is currently comprised of twenty independent law firms. Each country
is represented by only one leading firm in its home market, providing solid local knowledge and strict client service standards. For almost five decades, these firms have worked together and collaborated closely, developing productive professional relationships and trusting personal liaisons. The firms meet frequently to exchange knowledge and discuss common professional interests. Lawyer exchanges among the firms are also encouraged.

AN ASSOCIATION EXCHANGING KNOWLEDGE

The result is a vibrant community of law firms with over 2,500 lawyers, uniquely placed to provide legal assistance to corporate clients in an increasingly dynamic and interconnected global environment.
